Are you unhappy with your teeth because they are crooked or have bite misalignments? If so, our dentist at Greater Houston Dental Arts will evaluate your teeth to determine the best way to correct them. We have several orthodontic procedures to choose from that will make your teeth look amazing.
Whether your teeth have damage from an accident or you’ve had crooked teeth all your life, our dentist at Greater Houston Dental Arts is an orthodontic specialist who can recommend the correct braces for straightening your teeth.
Adult Braces – If your teeth have stopped growing, which happens in your early 20s, Dr. Younus may recommend traditional or ceramic braces to straighten them. Traditional braces are metal braces that use brackets, bands, and wires to tighten them as your teeth adjust and move into their correct positions. These braces are usually for more severe cases of crooked teeth or bite misalignments.
Ceramic Braces – This is a better option for adults who don’t want to have a mouthful of metal showing when they talk or smile. Ceramic braces use clear wires and brackets so that they are virtually invisible. However, these braces can correct more severely crooked teeth like metal braces.
Invisalign® – If you only have mild to moderate issues with crookedness or bite misalignments, these clear aligners can straighten them for you. They are not visible from a distance, and most people may not notice them when they are near you. They use pressure to put your teeth into their correct positions, and you can take them out to eat, brush your teeth, or nap.
Correcting a teen’s teeth while they’re young and the teeth move easier gives teens an advantage over adults who are still grappling with teeth issues. Since their teeth improve at a younger age, they will have an easier time brushing them, keeping them free from decay, and have beautiful smiles for a longer time.
After an evaluation, a teen may get traditional or ceramic braces to straighten their smiles, or they may qualify to wear teen Invisalign if their gap, alignments, or crooked teeth issues are minor.
